"On the Way to Somewhere Else"

Strong architectural and geometric imagery... Stacked feelings... Piled reactions... Crude colors and rough shapes.
The "weep," "cry," "laugh," and "pray" words written in large uppercase letters on the trunk pyramid are repeated several times in small characters in the upper left corner, and repeated again, altered, on the bottom left of the canvas.
The very large words, "THAT HURTS," encompass and summarize the whole feeling of the artwork.

The text was inspired by Fernardo Pessoa's poem, "I Am Tired."

"I am tired, that is clear,
...
Of what I am tired, I don't know:
It would not serve me at all to know
Since the tiredness stays just the same.
The wound hurts as it hurts..."
