"Do Not Crush"

Not long ago I stumbled upon a powerful image that brought to my mind a strong memory of railway sets, and implicitly, of childhood.

In this painting I wanted to incorporate elements that made me think of innocence, and I did it in the form of stylized representations of train tracks, an oversized stuffed animal (a dromedary, the yellow and green shape), and a huge puzzle piece (the blue and maroon shape).
The train tracks are going all around the canvas, while the two large toy pieces take the center of the painting.

In words and text, I captured a few points that allude to maturity and the adult life. "Yesterday's Eternity" encapsulates the bitter-sweet truth and realization that good things, childhood, and beautiful naivete do not last forever. Next to it, smaller, is "Fragile" - like a warning, life is fragile, happiness is fragile. "This Side Up," like an order, could bring to mind obeying the rules. In red, the "DO NOT CRUSH" is like a plea - do not crush, well, happiness, feelings...

The last three texts and their background shapes were inspired by packing and moving materials.
Their rigidness and muted colors contrast blatantly with the rest of the free flowing and colorful forms throughout the canvas.

Like at the end of an old movie, "THE END," placed at the right bottom of the canvas, comes to conclude the painting as a story of life.
